We brought together the editors and authors from our March book, The Best British Travel Writing of the 21st Century, to discuss whether reading about travel can be better than actually travelling itself.

And guess what, it can!

Especially when penned by writers with a passion for discovery, a talent for noticing and mastery of how to distil the essence of their experience into words that make you feel something.

We had so much fun talking about this fabulously creative craft that we ran out of time to hear their stories of terrible toilet situations, run-ins with the law and the humbling kindness of strangers.
