A weekend of culture, nature and connection with author Matt Gaw and slow adventurers Miscellaneous Adventures.

Hosted by the old rocks and ancient forests of Borrowdale in the Lake District, the Ink Experience is a rare belonging that we will craft together.

A fleeting moment of clarity in the modern world - like the blazing double rainbow that delights the sole couple stupid enough to brave its stormy herald - your reward for getting stuck in and paying attention.

Together, in the space of the weekend, we are going to create something that connects us to each other and this place; a collective attendance that uses culture - writing, books, quotes - as a mirror to hone our awareness.

Inspired by passages from our books, past and present, we'll scatter through the valley to discover ecologies and entities that whisper old wisdom to the new world, before returning to our cosy barn to toast their stories with all-day coffee and night-time conversation.

Author Matt Gaw, who visited the valley whilst writing In All Weathers will be with us throughout the weekend, hosting a creative writing workshop to help us uncover hidden mysteries and meanings.

But this is not a writer's retreat; we are there to reconnect, to transform our pen into a lens.

We'll be aided by Andrew and Emma of Miscellaneous Adventures, local creatives, slow adventurers and ecologists, who will help us see through eyes and souls slowly becoming hefted into the local hills.

In the evening we'll gather to break the best kind of bread, stroked with tomato sauce, strewn with cheese and kissed by hot flames. Yes, we'll scoff fresh pizza as we settle in to stew on our situation in the company of a panel of invited guests.

The following morning sets up with an optional dip in, or paddle on, Derwentwater, before a further day of discoveries in the dale.

We close on Sunday afternoon with an unmissable gathering to create a shifting collage of our encounters that helps make sense of where we are. Even if just for a fleeting moment.

Tickets include attendence to all the talks, workshops and panels, curated suggestions for immersing yourself in the landscape, all-day hot drinks and shared evening meal.

Overnight accommodation is available separately, including:
